After you read this, please go to http://transequality.org/ and write to your representatives now.The Employment Non-Discrimination Act has been delayed in Congress. We need everyone to speak up. Tell them to ask Chairman Miller to end the delay now. Cite this research. Thank you.

This is the abstract from an upcoming publication. Let’s get to the bottom line. Researchers at Yale and Columbia University discovered that when states have anti-discrimination laws protecting lesbians, gays and bisexuals, LGB individuals are mentally healthier. As you read the brief amount of information below, you will notice something called P with a number. This is the probability that this result occurred by random chance. For example, a P value of .02 means that there is a 2% chance that the result is random, rather than correlating.

While this particular research does not refer to transgender persons in the abstracts (which I personally think is sad), transgender individuals face the same level of discrimination, if not worse.

The Trans Pulse project is a research project in Ontario, Canada, looking at how the healthcare system provides for transgendered people. Even though it is for Canadians, if you are from another country, you might still enjoy their website.
